Sermon 61, Job 15:30-35
God is just. In the end, it isn’t difficult to understand that the wicked will perish and the good will go to heaven. The concerns in this sermon appear to me to be 1) comments on the wicked who seem to be living a good life, and 2) how time, specifically our perception of it, is important.
A key difference between the wicked and the good is that the wicked live for the now. And they might have a great time, now. But they’re going to pay for that, God will punish them.
A second key difference is that the good man has been bought to an understanding of how to be good by God.
I am struggling with my life right now, and I am reading the Bible carefully to receive guidance. What I am especially looking for is a practical theology - one that really does affect my everyday life, my actions, my emotions.
Job, in general, has a lot to say about the perception of the passage of time.
