Sermon 72, Job 19:26-29
“Let us not judge quickly for fear of being seen as incompetent, and incompetence is what allows men to act to hastily, which results from embarrassment at not being clever enough to judge wisely at first, for we think, ‘if I do not put in my two cents worth about this, no one will respect me.’ Now, God laughs to scorn those with that outlook.”
“So, let us not be so arrogant that we assure ourselves God’s hand cannot come near us when we torment poor people who ask only to live in peace and who have offended us in no way.”
